Sen. Lacson's assessment on Duterte's first 100 years of his administration showed how the Senator was amazed because the almost 100-day old Duterte administration made them feel like it has been running for years.
In an interview, Lacson cited some of the achievements and developments they had withness with Duterte's admininstration given that is just about to reach its 100th day on Octorber. He narrated how he and some other Senators talk about how they feel about Duterte's administration. They said that everyone of them felt like the administration is already running for years because of the events and developments it already produced.
"Kung naguusap-usap kami ng mga senador, nakakailang taon ba tayo? Parang napakahabang panahon na sa dami ng kaganapan at developments, hindi mo iisiping wala pang 100 days" says the former PNP chief.
Lacson gave special emphasis on the evident progress of Duterte's war against illegal drug trade.
"Siguro dala na rin sa araw-araw, napakaraming balitang nasasagap, napakaraming nangyayari, napapatay. So parang pinikit mo ang mata mo at sinara mo ang utak mo muna gaano katagal, iisipin mo talagang napakahabang panahon na siyang president", he added.
It can be recalled that last June, Lacson already commended Duterte's admininstration as it made drug pushers and users to turn themselves in the authorities due to fear, weeks before Duterte formally sits as the President of the country.
Even before President-elect Duterte formally assumes the presidency, we have seen how suspected drug users and pushers turned themselves in to police in past weeks out of fear. Never in history of criminality in the Philippines have seen drug users/pushers and the like surrender in this manner", Lacson sain in an article released by interaksyon.com.
Even before, Lacson already expressed his hopes for the Duterte administration to greatly minimize crime if eradicating it completely might not be possible.
Meanwhile, he also said that the increase in the price and decrease on the demand of illegal drugs is a proof that the war against drugs is gaining result.
